*"Foodies" ( I hate that term) are simply gluttons with money.

* The number one cause of irrational thinking in humans is anger. "Angry" is how the Tea Party defines it'self.

Something that has been on my mind for about 5 years now.

Graydon Carter is an Asshole!

It has been a month since I put this thing up...

And even I don't read it.

Anyway, I was thinking this morning of creating a "Must Neuter" list. These are people whom I feel so apathetic, angry, disappointed with that I feel they should rescind their ability to reproduce. In "my society", they would be creating a great service by not inhabiting our earth with off spring. This will be an open forum, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to add them. I am also keeping this list open to be updated from time to time for just cause. If you find yourself on this list, I am sorry but you probably did something to piss me off, at some point or another. You may state your case for reproductive rights but please keep it brief and to the point. So without further fanfare, I give you the start of an on going list....

1) That rotund troll from the New Jersey Shore television show. In all disclosure, I have not seen this show but I have seen this "thing" in the newspapers and by looks alone, she is added but behavior makes her top the list for today.
2) Levi Johnson and Sarah Palin's kid. Sarah Palin too but I fear it is too late. Levi Johnson? Johnson is a name adopted in slang for a certain male appendage, match that with where said appendage is housed??? Oh, I get it... Though they have conspired to create one offspring, that is enough for them.
3) That guy in my neighborhood who wears those clunky shoes and architict glasses, has a beard, a t-shirt that states Brooklyn and is constantly on his Apple Computer walking machine... Oh wait, that creates a lot of vacancies in my neighborhood.... No breeding for you!

4) Lady Gaga. She should not even be painted or photographed let alone cloned. I love Pablo Picasso but this woman's face looks like his cubism period.

Learning by doing...

So, my audience of one, being me. I am learning this blog thing by doing. Here is the first photo post. I have titled this picture "Mr Hopper's Neighbors". It was taken Easter Sunday on

the Bowery in New York City. If you look, and pardon the uneven balance of the shot, it has a resemblance to Edward Hopper's paintings, just the characters in the shot.

I was walking down the Bowery after a lovely Easter/Birthday celebration brunch with some friends and spotted these gentlemen next door to The Bowery Mission. It looked like an SRO of years gone by and for all I know, it may be that today. The scene had a certain 1940's feel to it. I had to take this in a hurry because I did not want them to notice me. Not out of fear that I would anger them but out of fear that the image may have appeared posed. I can not, for the life of me, take a decent picture of anyone who knows they are being photographed. I hope you enjoy this picture as much as I enjoy it.

*In the spirit of full disclosure, I can not paint so I carry a "picture taker machine" wherever I go in NYC. I will post more as time goes by...

The Kids Are All Right

For some reason, I do not know why, this movie I saw yesterday has become quite incindiary. I have followed what people are saying and can not imagine, in this day and age, what the big deal is about two women raising two normally adjusted children via the help of a sperm donation from the 1980's. I have read many angry posts about this movie, from people who apparently have not seen it. It was released yesterday in limited cities (NY, LA, Chicago and SF), some of the postings on the NY Times review were from people like "Pissed in Plano" or "Angry in Albany", etc. They seem to feel threatened by what they percieve to be a statement or "agenda" movie from the Hollywood bias.

I found this movie to be wonderful in every aspect of classic story telling. A compelling plot, witty and sardonic script, perfectly acted and directed as well as casted. I consider this to be the best movie I have seen in years. It is a refreshing change from Hollywood's habit of putting out picture on top of picture as if they were Fords coming off an assembly line in Detroit.

If the people who are seemingly so affraid of this motion picture would not let their imaginations run amok; picturing a sexually feuled, agenda commentary on social morrays they might just like this film. If they are looking for something the movie is not (sex and agenda and commentary on LBGT or Sperm Donation) they will be sadly dissapointed. This movie is about people, all be it in a unique circumstance (grown children wanting to meet their doner father much to the reluctance of their committed lesbian mothers). This is a film about people and how they relate to one and other. This is a solid movie and I do hope that Lisa Cholodnko wins best Director and Screenplay. It is also an Oscar worthy performance by Mark Ruffalo, Annette Benning and Julliana Moore.

One scene is worth the price of admission. Without giving any of it away, it involves a dinner table scene where Annette Benning's character ages, right before our very eyes. Such great acting and directing is very rare... Amazing!

A wonderful masterpiece by a masterful cast and staff!
